DM/M.Ch Super Speciality Entrance Test-2012

Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai will conduct admission test on All India basis at Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai on 15th July, 2012, Sunday for the following DM and M.Ch programmes

M.Ch (Surgical Oncology) (General) (Sponsorship)
DM (Medical Oncology) (General) (Sponsorship)
M.Ch (Gynecological Oncology) (General)

Sponsored by Govt Regional Cancer Centres and Govt Medical Colleges, Armed Forces Medical Colleges, BMC and Govt Medical Colleges (having Oncology Dept) and other Cancer Hospitals

Eligibility

DM (Medical Oncology): Possess a MCI recognized postgraduate degree (MD or equivalent) in General Medicine or Radiotherapy
M.Ch (Surgical Oncology): Possess a MCI recognized postgraduate degree (MS or equivalent) in General Surgery or ENT (Ororhinolaryngology) or Orthopedics
M.Ch (Gynecological Oncology): Possess a MCI recognized postgraduate degree (MS or MD Gynecology equivalent) in Gynecological Surgery

Other requirement: Passed the qualifying examination (MD/MS (General Surgery) or equivalent) in no more than two attempts
Those who are currently doing any DM/MCh/DNB (SS0 are not eligible)

Appeared candidates for MD/MS/DNB exam this year may apply within the last date of application and if selected, candidate should have final result at the date of interview (Viva)

Age Limit: Not more than 40 years on the day of CET

  • The completed application form with all enclosures must reach the office of the Director, Academics, 13th Floor, Homi Bhabha Block Building, Tata Memorial Hospital, Parel, Mumbai-400012 on or before 31st May, 2012 upto 05.00 p.m.
  • The demand draft drawn in favour of Tata Memorial Centre, Parel, Mumbai of Rs 5000/- (Rs five thousand only) for DM and MCh
  • It is also mandatory to submit application online and send us the hard copy by Regd Post/Speed post

MCI Relaxes eligibility criteria for Teachers in Medical Colleges

The Medical Council of India (MCI) has relaxed the experience criteria required for teachers taking MBBS classes to be eligible to teach PG students. Earlier, a PG teacher needed to have a total of seven years of experience of which five years were supposed to be as Assistant Professor. The relaxed norms now mandate only a four-year experience as Assistant Professor which means a relaxation of one year. The move is to meet the shortage of PG teachers, said a senior official in the Union Health Ministry. A decision in this regard was taken recently at a meeting of the Board of Governors of the MCI which is an autonomous body under the Health Ministry to regulate the medical education standard in the country.
