DNB CET Jan 2012: Second Councelling, Indicative Seats

  • NBE shall be conducting CET Centralized Merit Based Counseling – Second Round from 12-06-2012 to 19-06-2012 for admission to DNB Courses for Jan 2012 admission session.

  • Based on the joining/non-joining status of candidates  received by NBE for the first round of counseling, Seat matrix indicating DNB Primary seats for second round has been compiled and is placed on NBE website.

  • The indicative seat matrix published herewith is purely PROVISIONAL. Final Seat matrix shall be published prior to the counseling.

  • Comments regarding inclusion or exclusion of any department/hospital may be informed to NBE latest by 07th June 2012 through email at reg@natboard.edu.in

  • If no comments are received by this date, the list shall be finalized by NBE accordingly.

  • Accredited hospitals/institutions who do not participate in the aforesaid counseling may kindly note that they shall not be allowed to enroll candidates against the seats at their own level. Further, their accreditation may be withdrawn with immediate effect.

MCI Relaxes eligibility criteria for Teachers in Medical Colleges

The Medical Council of India (MCI) has relaxed the experience criteria required for teachers taking MBBS classes to be eligible to teach PG students. Earlier, a PG teacher needed to have a total of seven years of experience of which five years were supposed to be as Assistant Professor. The relaxed norms now mandate only a four-year experience as Assistant Professor which means a relaxation of one year. The move is to meet the shortage of PG teachers, said a senior official in the Union Health Ministry. A decision in this regard was taken recently at a meeting of the Board of Governors of the MCI which is an autonomous body under the Health Ministry to regulate the medical education standard in the country.
