Help for uploading Photo and signature for DNB/AIIMS/AIPPG

As almost all the examination bodies started online application forms, it is now required to upload photo ans signature in digital format for filling up the form. I see a lot of students find some difficulty and confusion in how best to upload these without error . So to help such students who find difficulty i am trying to suggest some steps to do this in easiest possible way. 1. Preparing the photo for upload. If u r going to photographer for photo, ask him to give u a soft copy of the same, which u can use for uploading. Note these things before going to the photo studio. - 1. Take a pendrive with you where u can save the soft copy of photo. 2. Read the instructions about the size of photo required in kb (kilobytes - measuring unit of digital data). The size often vary with different exams, for eq: DNB - 10kb - 100kb. it may be different for other exams so read and go. The photo which photographer has are usually of large size so ask him to reduce the size and give u. Th...

NBE planning to conduct NEET 2013 as Computer based test mode

The National Board of Examination (NBE), which will be conducting the Common Entrance Test (CET) for PG medical students, has decided to replicate the IIM model, an ‘online test’ format for the PG medical students. The proposal for the new method has been sent to the Union health ministry and the NBE wants to kick-off with this from the next academic year without any glitches. “The NBE has undertaken detailed planning. Given the size, it is possible to conduct the exam online only and this has been conveyed to the health ministry,” senior official in the health ministry disclosed. Three years back, the IIM had switched over to the new computer-based testing. The new system offers a window of 10 days to appear for the online test. A student can choose a particular date within 10 days of the given date as per his convenience. However, the tests will be held in a particular centre and besides invigilators, CCTVs and biometric identification systems will also be put in p...

Bionic Eye by 2013

Three weeks ago, Chris James, who has been blind for 25 years, saw a sudden pulsating light in his left eye, like a camera bulb or a lighting flash. Doctors had just switched on a wafer-thin, 3mm microchip implanted at the back of his eye . At first all he could see was light. Now he can distinguish shapes and might, in time, even be able to recognize faces. James's experimental 'bionic eye' reacts to light, sending an electronic signal that is picked up by the optic nerve and processed by the brain into an image. The treatmentcould partially restore the sight of thousands of sufferers of a condition called retinitis pigmentosa, which causes the photoreceptor cells at the back of the eye to deteriorate. "As soon as I had this flash in my eye, it confirmed that my optic nerves are functioning properly," he said. "It was like someone taking a photo with a flashbulb - a pulsating light." In March James, a 54-year-old from Wroughton, Wiltshire, under...
