Applications are invited for the admissions to the vacant seats of MHA course (2012-2014) batch, having entrance examination at School of Management Studies, Dr John Matthai Centre, Thrissur

Eligibility: Pass in any Bachelor degree of the University of Calicut or institution recognized by the University of Calicut, UGC or AICTE as equivalent to the Bachelor’s Degree Programmes of other universities or institutions under 10+2+3 pattern under regular stream of study with not less than 50% marks in aggregate is eligible for admissionc (SC/ST/OBC and other eligible communities shall be given relaxation as per university rules)

Application Fee: Application fee will be Rs 300/- drawn as challan or demand draft in favour of Finance Officer, University of Calicut, payable at Calicut University

Last date of online submission of applications will be 24th August, 2012
Hard copy of the applications with original fee receipt on or before 27th August, 2012
Date of entrance examination will be 02nd September, 2012

MCI Relaxes eligibility criteria for Teachers in Medical Colleges

The Medical Council of India (MCI) has relaxed the experience criteria required for teachers taking MBBS classes to be eligible to teach PG students. Earlier, a PG teacher needed to have a total of seven years of experience of which five years were supposed to be as Assistant Professor. The relaxed norms now mandate only a four-year experience as Assistant Professor which means a relaxation of one year. The move is to meet the shortage of PG teachers, said a senior official in the Union Health Ministry. A decision in this regard was taken recently at a meeting of the Board of Governors of the MCI which is an autonomous body under the Health Ministry to regulate the medical education standard in the country.
