PG Diploma in Clinical Research (Part Time)-2013

The Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) is a university estd by the legislative assembly of state of Andhra Pradesh

The objects of the institute is to provide for post graduate teaching and conduct of research in the relevant disciplines of modern medicine and other allied sciences, including inter disciplinary fields of physical and biological science

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into the Part Time Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Research course for the year 2012
PG Diploma in Clinical Research (PGDCLR) (Part Time)

Seats: 30

Duration: 12 months

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates who have passed bachelors degree in Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Life Sciences with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination

Desirable: Experience in Clinical Research, Post Graduate qualification

Selection Procedure: The selection shall be based on the merit (percentage of marks in graduate examination plus marks in the oral aptitude (interview)

No request for postponing the date of interview or request to appear at an earlier date shall be entertained

In the event a candidate fails to report for the admission at the date and time specified the seat shall be offered to the next merit candidate as per the waiting list

In case of any seat falling vacant within one month of starting of the course, shall be filled by the next candidate in waiting list only

Interview letters shall be sent to the candidates for interview

Application Form: Candidate must submit hard copy of the application form

The application form may be downloaded and filled appropriately

Please note that all the columns in the application form require to be filled in

Incomplete application forms are liable to be rejected

The filled in application form should be downloaded from the website and to be submitted to the Associate Dean, Nursing and Allied Studies, Academic Section-2 (AC2) 3rd Floor, Old OP Block, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Punjagutta, Hyderabad-500082 on or before 10th December, 2012, 05.00 p.m.

A demand draft for Rs 1,000/- (Rs one thousand only) drawn in favour of the Director, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences and dated between 20th November, 2012 to 10th December, 2012 or for the same amount has to be paid in cash counter of NIMS

Cash receipt will have to be submitted simultaneously along with the filled in application

The candidate must write his/her name and the course applied for on the back side of the Bank Draft/ NIMS cash receipt

Application fee is non-refundable even if the application is rejected

The filled in applications received after the prescribed date and time may not be considered

  • Issue of interview letters for eligible candidates through e-mail: 17th December, 2012, Monday
  • Date of oral aptitude testing/ interview (venue as indicated in the interview letter): 22nd December, 2012, Saturday
  • Display of merit list and names of candidates provisionally selected for admission: 24th December, 2012, Monday
  • Date of admission, payment of fee and submission of certificates and bond: 28th December, 2012, Friday
  • Commencement of classes: 18th January, 2013, Friday
  • Closure of admission: 16th February, 2013, Saturday

MCI Relaxes eligibility criteria for Teachers in Medical Colleges

The Medical Council of India (MCI) has relaxed the experience criteria required for teachers taking MBBS classes to be eligible to teach PG students. Earlier, a PG teacher needed to have a total of seven years of experience of which five years were supposed to be as Assistant Professor. The relaxed norms now mandate only a four-year experience as Assistant Professor which means a relaxation of one year. The move is to meet the shortage of PG teachers, said a senior official in the Union Health Ministry. A decision in this regard was taken recently at a meeting of the Board of Governors of the MCI which is an autonomous body under the Health Ministry to regulate the medical education standard in the country.
